Recoats

As experts in recoating, the advanced Gerard Roof Coating System we offer is a cost-effective solution to extend the life of your existing roof.
This system is specifically designed to prolong the lifespan of your existing roof while substantially improving its durability and appearance. 

Compatible with metal tiles, long-run and concrete tiles, the Gerard Coating System is ideal for roofs that are looking tired or deteriorating, but not beyond repair. 

Recoating process:

  • Fix any dents or replace any damaged tiles as necessary.
  • Moss/lichen/algae treatment. Any of these growths indicate that moisture is present which can interfere proper roof drainage, which may cause your roof to leak. 
  • Waterblast to remove any loose chip and grime. 
  • Fix any damaged or cracked tiles, fix broken mortar, remove dents in metal roof tiles and apply a rust treatment if required. 
  • Spray on bituminious primer basecoat and rechip.
  • Spray on Decragard roof coating topcoat in colour of your choice.
  • Warranty supplied by Gerard.

New roofs & re-roofs

From new builds to complete roof replacements, we guarantee a structurally robust roof by utilising premium COLORSTEEL® materials, designed to withstand the demanding Wellington climate conditions.

New/re-roofing process:

  • Roof measured and materials ordered
  • Guard rail installed. We set up our own edge protection - if bad weather slows us down, you won’t pay extra.
  • Removal of old roof (this may be done in sections depending on weather constraints).
  • For concrete tile to long-run roofing, new timber purlins will be installed to fit new roof. Skip bins will be organised to dispose of concrete tiles.
  • Complete replacement of building paper to ensure protection.
  • Installation of lightweight COLORSTEEL® long-run roofing system.
  • Proper disposal of previous roof and debris.
  • Warranty supplied by COLORSTEEL®.

Maintenance

The best way to keep your roof in great shape is by preventing moss, lichen and algae from taking over. If left to grow, spores can penetrate into the substrate surface, exposing the concrete or steel underneath - that’s when leaks, rust, and cracks start to show. Signs to look for:

  • Moss appears as green, velvety patches often near valleys or gutters where water collects.
  • Lichen has a rough, crusty texture and commonly appears in damp or shaded areas.
  • Patches of black, green, grey, yellow or white.

Setting up a regular treatment plan is an effective approach to ensure your roof remains in optimal condition. This not only keeps your roof looking great but also helps prevent costly repairs later on.

Gutter cleaning & PVC spouting

Keeping your gutters clean and clear keeps water flowing like it should and helps prevent potential water damage to your property. If you’re dealing with broken or missing spouting, or box gutter issues, no worries – we can fix it up or install some new PVC spouting for you!
